Civil War Artifacts

The Upcountry History Museum rented out a trunk full of Civil War artifacts.

After viewing the artifacts, we began a 1000 piece Civil War puzzle.

Walnut Grove Plantation

On Thursday, March 10th, the 3rd grade students stepped back in time (Revolutionary War Era) and visited the Walnut Grove Plantation.
FIRST, we learned about toys children played with at that time.  The students made a whirlygig.

SECOND, we toured the house, the kitchen, the forge, the school house, the doctor's house, and the cemetery to discover what life was like then.

FINALLY, we learned about trading furs and re-enacted the Revolutionary War.

It was a fun, educational, hands-on field trip!
